Henderson Hall

Centerbrook designed a top-to-bottom renovation of Henderson Hall and Parker Library, the facility this building will contain. Henderson is located on the Upper School Campus of Saint Andrew’s School, a pre-K-12 boarding and day school for which Centerbrook designed a campus master plan in 2015.

The master plan called for Parker Library to return to Henderson Hall, its original home when the school was founded in 1962. The library’s 8,500 square feet will display the school’s collection of books and provide collaborative spaces for project-based work, flexible learning spaces, math and writing labs, and library resources supported by a media specialist. In addition to stacks and quiet study areas, the first floor is intended to promote lively group work and give students access to visualization and web-based resources. The second floor will be dedicated to quiet study and will contain a number of small group study lounges and spaces plus a larger classroom.

As part of Centerbrook’s master plan, Henderson Hall is intended to operate in tandem with its adjacent neighbor, Centerbrook’s new Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, a building that contains a large gathering space, classrooms, IT services, a lecture hall, a production studio, and an editing suite.
