We’ve designed every project type associated with higher education. This gives us a broad perspective on the role of the college campus in nurturing adults-in-training. Our buildings can be found on liberal arts campuses, at land grant universities, and on urban campuses. We have conceived new campuses and contributed to the long-term evolution of others.

​The Continuum of Learning

In the sciences we have expertise at all levels: from middle and high school to collegiate and postgraduate curricula — and all the way up to cutting edge research, applied sciences, and manufacturing. Our Modus Operandi is to infuse each step along the way with elements of preparation for steps yet to come. Our goal is to create facilities that are stimulating, functional, and changeable.

​Concentrating Intellectual Activity

Undergraduates today are called upon to work in groups, so they need formal and informal meeting spaces. We’ve seen that gathering spaces of the right kind stimulate intellectual and social activity while contributing to a sense of community and encouraging problem solving.

​Evolving Pedagogy

Today, learning is becoming less teacher-driven and more student-centric. Classrooms increasingly are called upon to support group-based learning formats where real-world problems can be addressed in ways that promote easy discussion from student-to-student and student-to-teacher.
