Arena Team Lauded

Centerbrook, CT – Centerbrook Architects is pleased to announce that the team that conceived and executed the Leo D. Mahoney Arena was recognized with a First Place “Project Team Award” from the Connecticut Building Congress.

The new arena, which celebrated its grand opening in November 2022, was realized by a diverse and talented design, construction, and client team led by Centerbrook, Gilbane Building Company, and Fairfield University. The 3,500-seat facility, envisioned as a welcoming place that reflects the University’s Jesuit identity, is home to its basketball and volleyball teams, as well as other on-campus events.

Each year, the CBC recognizes outstanding projects that exemplify team excellence and represent best practices in teamwork. The award will be presented at a banquet on June 13^th at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville, CT.
