This new research center for Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is one of the largest of its kind in New York State. The 65,000-square-foot facility is located on 12 acres in Woodbury, New York, seven miles from the main Laboratory campus in Laurel Hollow and near the new Broadhollow Biotechnology Park. The project involved the renovation of a corporate office building into four research centers - a bioinformatics center; a cancer research center; a genome sequencing center; and a plant genomics center. Each center will use the data revealed by the Human Genome Project and other genome sequencing consortiums to further their research. The project also includes a conference area, library, an auditorium, dining commons, and administration/support areas.
