This 1913 building was renovated from its most recent use as a facilities maintenance complex to house the Laboratory's offices of development, human resources, and publicity. The building needed to reflect the history and permanence of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory campus. New dormers and a larger light monitors were added. The adjacent carpentry and paint sheds were transformed into offices for the publicity department. A serpentine wall was constructed across the front to protect from tidal flooding.
