Taglianetti Awarded Centerbrook Travel Grant
Laura Taglianetti, Associate AIA and LEED AP, is the most recent recipient of the Centerbrook Architects Travel Grant, and she is evaluating potential destinations worldwide. “I haven’t picked a place yet,” she said. “If I stay on this continent, I’ll be heading out to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver. If I go overseas, I’ve thought about the Baltic States – Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia – or Greece, or Morocco!”
Centerbrook awards travel grants to members of the firm who “best exemplify selfless devotion to the successful execution of a building's design.” The person receives a paid leave of absence and a stipend to enable her to visit and research a place of architectural interest anywhere in the world. Since the inception of the program in 1987 Centerbrook has awarded 76 travel grants.
Taglianetti earned her Masters of Architecture from Norwich University of Vermont and also studied in Copenhagen at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad. She joined Centerbrook in 2005, and projects that she has worked on include the Ocean House resort hotel in Rhode Island and the Student Center at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania. She plays the violin in the local Community Music School Orchestra.
“I obviously have a bit of narrowing down to do,” Taglianetti confessed, explaining: “Because I’d go just about anywhere. And since I love to travel, the idea is to pick somewhere I wouldn’t think of typically going.”

Centerbrook Architects was established in 1975 and has a national reputation for design excellence. In 1998 Centerbrook received the national AIA Firm Award, the highest honor that the American Institute of Architects confers on a firm.
