Centerbrook to Lead Library Design Workshops
January 15th, 2010
Centerbrook Architects will be leading a series of design workshops at the Mary Cheney Library in Manchester, Connecticut with library and town officials, as well a representative group of townspeople who have been invited to participate, to examine the possibilities and limitations of expanding the current facility which is situated in a public park. Approximately thirty people are expected to participate in the workshops, which will be lead by Centerbrook Principal, Charles Mueller, AIA. After the initial December session, three more are scheduled for January. Library space, accessibility, and parking are among the issues under review. Built in 1937, the building was last expanded in 1962. Centerbrook has designed or renovated local and collegiate libraries nationwide, among them the Health Sciences Library at the University of Colorado, Denver, Lewis Walpole Library at Yale and the Arnold Bernhard Library at Quinnipiac University.
