Centerbrook was founded on the idea of making a notable place to which talented architects would be drawn by its mission of excellence in architecture and design.

Bill Grover, Jeff Riley, Mark Simon, and Chad Floyd have worked together since the founding of the firm in 1975. In 2008 Bill Grover became partner emeritus. Jim Childress was made a partner in 1996, and Charles Mueller was made a principal in 2002. Each has individual design responsibility.

Senior associates and associates are registered architects and are talented managers of both projects and the business of the firm. All advancements to principal and partner come from this group of associates.

Architectural staff members are highly qualified and fulfill the roles of intern, draftsperson, and project manager. These men and women represent some of the most talented and promising young professionals in architecture.

Centerbrook also has a staff of two interior design professionals who collaborate with the partners and principals on the design of furniture, fixtures, and interiors.

Centerbrook maintains a continuing education and in-house training program for its architectural staff including a formal Intern Development Program (IDP). The AIA awarded Centerbrook a 2008-2011 IDP Award in recognition of the firms's "exemplary environment for interns pursuing licensure."

The firm has its own on-site training facility for CAD operation, project management, quality assurance, code compliance, and technical/product updates. Sessions are led by Centerbrook partners and associates, outside consultants, and industry experts.
