West Campus Housing Project
University of Northern Colorado

Greeley, Colorado

The West Campus Housing Project will occupy a prominent corner of the campus and is intended to create a new gateway to the Greeley campus. Two red brick residence halls will open to three interlocking courtyards. The buildings will range in height from four to six stories, keeping the project residential in feeling and in scale with adjacent campus architecture.

The University of Northern Colorado selected Centerbrook as architect after judging the results of an 11-week design-build competition. Centerbrook’s team includes Davis Partnership Architects of Denver and the Denver office of
M. A. Mortenson, general contractors.

The project will provide beds for 720 students in suite-style rooms. The residence halls are designed to foster social interaction at all levels - one-on-one, and in small, medium, and large groups.

The design intentionally incorporates a variety of indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, ranging from patios and courtyards to window seats, alcoves, nooks, and lounges. This diversity will enrich the students’ experience and insure a comfortable place for everyone.
